An advocate communicates your wish(es) or complaint(s) (or those of someone you may care for) to the relevant organisation to help achieve the outcomes you desire. Ideally, an advocate should be unrelated to you and independent of any government organisation.
We are a highly-experienced independent advocacy agency, offering a low-cost alternative to solicitors* whilst providing a high level of expertise, making us accessible and beneficial to service users of all income levels.**
Our advocacy practice is guided by membership
1. Personal case management and one-to-one support for up to 6 months
(or more if required) for a fixed cost;
2. Attendance with you to meetings, panels and tribunals;
3. Personalised care and support throughout your case according to your needs.

We are health and social care advocacy specialists, having successfully managed a number of these cases from complaint stage to tribunal level.
We deal with cases involving both NHS and private
health and social care organisations. Our involvement has resulted in successful access to appropriate resources. It has also produced numerous formal apologies and contributed to improved patient procedures and positive outcomes within primary care and hospitals.
You may be facing direct or indirect disability discrimination when dealing with an organisation. Or, you may need support in applying for or appealing your disability benefit.
If you are suffering from a diagnosed disability or long-term condition, and you need support in affirming your rights, we are here for you.
Whether you are in private or social housing, we can help you to raise concerns and seek resolutions with your landlord.
If you are experiencing antisocial behaviour, need repairs or adaptations to your property or anything else, and you believe your landlord is ignoring their responsibilities, we can help.
If you are being harassed by creditors or are being pursued for debt that you do not believe you owe, or need support in dealing with your creditors due to illness, disability or personal hardship, we can help.
*Resolve is a registered paralegal service qualified through education and training to undertake law-related work. We are not legal practitioners (i.e. solicitors, barristers, etc). Our role is to assist our clients in making informed decisions in relation to their case and to facilitate the effective expression of their wishes, concerns and queries to relevant parties, with the aim of achieving successful resolution.

'I used a solicitor 2 years ago to assist me with my PIP appeal. They were unable to get my PIP rate increased at tribunal. Then I used Resolve, who discussed with me how my disabilities affected me and how I felt I fitted the PIP descriptors. Following this, my disability advocate requested my supporting documents, which she used to successfully obtain an enhanced rate of daily allowance and standard rate mobility. I never had these before! Resolve has a very dedicated approach and I would highly recommend the service,
above and beyond using a solicitor.'
PIP APPEAL - GINA, CHINGFORD (OCTOBER 2019)
'In over my head with a 10-year debt and at wits' end for being relentlessly pursued. Turned to The Talking Room in desperation and with no way of navigating the issue alone, Jacqueline Parkes seamlessly intervened as intermediary - huge psychological relief for me. Advocating vigorously, she negotiated a loan repayment at a whopping 50% reduction - on a debt of over £15,000, no mean feat. I am thrilled to report that on 30 October 2018, with payment satisfied, The Talking Room wrote its last letter on my behalf to the collection agency and closed my file. The word 'elation' does not begin to do justice regarding how I feel. The Talking Room will believe in your cause and fight your corner to the very end - take it from me. I have nothing but high praise for this service; it is advocacy with a heart.
With eternal thanks to Jacqueline Parkes and The Talking Room!'
DEBT COMPLAINT - ANONYMOUS, LEYTONSTONE (OCTOBER 2018)
'A fantastic service. The Talking Room did not trivialise my matter and gave it the necessary time, respect and compassion.
The resultant letter of complaint written on my behalf was exceptional; I could not have done better. They brought about real results, and now a very distressing chapter for me is satisfactorily closed. Highly recommended; justice will be done!'
DENTAL COMPLAINT - SHERRON, CENTRAL LONDON (OCTOBER 2017)
